Probably every building in NYC built before 1970s has asbestos in it. Asbestos abatement was and still is a very profitable business. I always thought it interesting that the concerns over asbestos and mesothelioma/asbestosis started taking shape in the late 1960s. I am not saying asbestos is safe, but I do find it interesting that the concerns arose after the Polio vaccination program. SV40 was found in those shots and was known to stimulate or cause soft tissue cancers. More recently, SV40 has been detected in the majority of mesotheliomas.

Think about it - no concerns over the other fine dust and particulates as the buildings turned to dust- only asbestos, why? Could it be that by outwardly claiming asbestos was the cause of the health issues in first responders they can conceal the technology that dustified the buildings?
